Kelly Love - Newborn - Meet the Love Family!!!

I just adore newborn sessions for multiple reasons...but mostly for getting my baby fix and just getting to hold a sweet baby! And baby Kelly was the perfect model. We did the session a week ago - and thankfully the weather was gorgeous! While he did move around in the beginning, by the end of the session, he was asleep - we wore him out! Modeling is so hard!

Kelly & Tanya Love - you have such a beautiful baby boy! Congrats on being new parents!

February - Fine Art Session

***For Weddings, Engagements/Bridals and other SPP sessions, please continue scrolling down***

Continuing on with my goal of a fine art session each month this year, I felt it was time to post this! At the beginning of the month we headed out to Pointlbank, Texas to visit my grandmother, who I call MommaMilly, for her birthday. Her property has always been inspirational for me, I grew up visiting them every weekend, every holiday and I even had my Wedding back in 2012 out there.

A lot of my ideas stem from playing in the woods, seeing all the trees and watching nature. There is a particular tree that is shorter, but has these branches that span out really far. I remember finding Easter Eggs on the limbs as a child and trying to climb it (remember I was a lot younger - its a rather small tree). I had asked my sister awhile back if I could photograph her holding on to it and flying away, but our timing never seemed right or the light was not what I wanted (nor the weather).

I was going to make it happen for the February session - the temperature was just right and the clouds were closely netted throughout the sky. I put Liv in a silk pink dress (she insisted on the cover up and I think it actually works). Special shout out to my cousin, Skyler, for helping me with the session.

To me this represents a fleeting memory of childhood. How sometimes the memories just pop into your head of finding that pink Easter egg that was so magical, and high up in a tree that seemed too tall, at the time, for my short frame. Playing hide and seek, picking out rocks on the trail and counting the ants that walked in line along the road. You move on, you age, but you hold on to these precious memories.

I entitled this photo 'Cherished Memories'

Thank you for reading my Fine Art posts. It is a side of photography I adore. Please feel free to leave your thoughts about what you feel the photo represents.

January - Fine Art Session

I know I am a little behind on posting this - but this session was from the end of January. One of my goals this year was a Fine Art/Conceptual Session a month. This is January's.

****For posts on Family, Portraits, and Wedding related events, please scroll down****

Awhile back, we were visiting Cody's sweet Grandmother and I had walked outside to let the dogs out and saw a rather large birdcage. Of course my first thought was, 'I have to shoot with this'. So who did I text? Why yes - my dear sweet amazingly awesome and talented muse - Savanna. I wish I could show you the exact text message, but it went something a little like this...

Me - So say I had a giant birdcage...
Savanna - I'm in!

So I knew during the Holiday season this would be a no go, so to follow my personal goal for the year of doing a Fine Art/Conceptual Session each month, I thought January would be perfect! Well I had a pretty busy start off to 2014 with Weddings, but luckily we were able to fit it in with the end of the month (as I mentioned above.)

So I present to you my Bird Cage Session with Savanna. I feel like I may need to warn you that some of the photos are a little PG13 and may not be safe to view at work.

I wanted to portray a storyline with these photos of feeling low and set in your ways, but then show the longing of wanting to grow and move forward. We are always frightened of change and tend to stay close to what we know, because it is 'comfortable' and 'safe', even if we long for new adventures. To quote my muse 'It says something about the self-inflicted shame of longing for the stability of chains'. But we take a chance and step forward, releasing our embrace from our cages. Only then we can florish.

Instead of titling each photo, I am calling this a photo story line.
I am entitling this photo story line: 'The Change We Make, The Flight We Take.'

Please feel free to comment and tell me what these photos made you feel.

Deborah & Kevin - Wedding

How do I describe Deborah & Kevin? Hilarious. Loving. Kind. The sweetest funniest couple ever! Okay...went a little overboard. But in all seriousness, it is true and I adore this couple - and their family! It was such a joy for me to be apart of their wedding day! I had the hardest time choosing which photos to post - I have a feeling I will be adding to this post in the future!
Deborah, Kevin - You had such a beautiful wedding! I loved the details (gosh Kevin you draw such amazing hearts!) I hope you enjoy these photos - and I hope you had a blast on your honeymoon!

I loved how Deborah decorated everything - and it really does make my heart happy seeing my photos on display at weddings!

A serious moment - which is rare with these guys!

Personal Post - 'Moments'

I adore photography. I really do.  Not only do I capture moments for others - but I believe I capture them for myself as well.

At the wedding this past weekend (pictures to come soon), I found this gem. I remember thinking the flower girl looked angelic with the light behind her. And so I snapped a photo.

Thus came this I am entitling 'Moments'. What do you think?

Review - Business Cards - moo.com!

I few months back I ordered some cards from moo.com, and I was not disappointed. The delivery was quick, the quality was amazing and thus began my addiction...business cards from moo.com!

I recently ordered more for my Fine Art/Conceptual side of photography and some of their 'mini' cards for an upcoming event I have that I will need numerous cards for. I thought I would share - because they gave me a few coupons to pass along!

So if you are needing some business cards that are extra snazzy and unique - see the pictures below and visit moo.com with the coupons they have passed on to me!

The wedding photo business card is their luxe edition, and the rounded corners are their standard business cards. They both are very thick, but the round edge one has a bit more of a glossy feel!

You can add as many photos as you like to your list with minis - it was so much fun creating these.

The mini's came in this little white box and the standard business cards came in the black box. They sit perfectly on my desk!

The luxe business cards came in this large box that snaps together with magnets.

15% off your first order: ZQW3QW
15% off 1 pack of mini cards: QYKW6H
15% of any 1 MOO product: Z86JF5

Order and enjoy! :]

Amy & Cisco - Wedding

Hello 2014! On January 2nd, I had the pleasure of starting my new year with this happy couple on their special day! They opted for a first look - and I just LOVE Cisco's expression when he first sees his Bride!

Amy and Cisco had their ceremony at University Heights Baptist Church, where they had met at a christian concert a few years before! What seemed as a chance meeting, I am sure was orchestrated by the divine above - they are just meant for each other!

I am so happy for you both - and I hope you are having a fantastic time on your honeymoon at Disney World! Here are some of my favorites - I hope you enjoy!

The blue cloth wrapped around this bouquet was the same one our Grandmother carried while marrying our Grandfather!

Groom's cake - a donut cake! This was my first experience with this cake - but I have to say it was rather awesome looking!

Oh...and he just kept smiling!

Here is where the thoughts came pouring in - 'We are getting married!' 'It's our wedding day!' 'Gosh it's freezing...' They kept each other warm!

'The wind is your friend' Ok, the veil got crazy in the wind, but I adore this photo! You are stunning Amy!

Because (say it with me now whovians...) 'Bow ties are cool' :]

Mr. Lyle had a very moving message, and did a wonderful ceremony.

Congrats to you both!
